One of my best mates was getting married, and as such we had to of course have the stag party! When we first got together we discussed the various different options over a few beers. Having reminisced about the stories of the poor bugger, we remembered one of his long winded stories about how he once went Canyoning and how amazing it was. None of the other guys have every done it before, so we thought, what the hell, lets do it!

We managed to organise a weekend in Spain and stayed in Benidorm. Now many of you may know Benidorm by reputation, and I have to say it does live up to it. What you see on TV is indeed what you get! Of course Benidorm has many things to offer and not all areas are the same. Needless to say it can be perfect for a stag party. But we digress. We were talking about canyoning.

1+4 legendary music festivals that you just can't miss this July!

vitaslomaEvents, Lifestyle, Music, Travel0 Comments

July means good weather, holidays and opportunity to travel and have a good time! These are our music festival proposals for this coming July: wanna join?

  • TRNSMT 7-9 July, Glasgow, Scotland

This is the +1. Why? Because it’s a new festival but not so much. TNSMT is taking the place of the legendary T in the Park that had been celebrating for 23 years, and that unfortunately celebrated its last edition last year because of administrative problems. TRNSMT promises, however, to pick up the legacy of T in the Park and beyond. The line up this year is full of top bands: Radiohead and Belle and Sebastian, Kasabian on Saturday, and on Sunday you can enjoy Biffy Clyro – amongst many, many others. Don’t miss Two Door Cinema Club on Sunday!  their song “What you know” is one of my favourites ever!!

Arena Moves: climb stairs to support MS research

vitaslomaEvents, Health, sports, Travel

Multiple sclerosis is a degenerative disease of the nervous system. It is quite capricious, it is not known of hereditary factors or of risk. It usually occurs between 20 and 40 years of age, although there are also cases in which it is diagnosed before, or after.

Symptoms can be of many types: dizziness, problems with vision, fatigue, tremors, motor problems …

According to the website European Multiple Sclerosis Platform, there are  700,000 people suffering MS in Europe and it is believed that there are over to 2.500.000 cases worldwide. Its incidence is higher in women than in men, and it’s more common in Europe and US than the rest of the world. If you look around, you may know someone who suffers from this disease, for which no one knows its cause and has no cure.

I have two very dear people affected, people – my sister and a great friend.

Will you be in Amsterdam on June 25? Then you can add your contribution  for the investigation of this disease. The Arena Moves event is held at the Amsterdam Arena (the Ajax field in Amsterdam) on 25 June, with various companies collaborating with Dutch  MS associations to raise funds for research.

To increase awareness about this disease, the organizers have proposed a very special challenge: climbing stairs.

Why don’t you sign in to this challenge? There are several levels:

700 steps

1.500 steps

3.000 steps

5.000 steps

6.500 steps !!!

Do you think 6.500 steps is not too much? To put it in perspective, the Empire Estate Building has 1.576 steps !!! And the Burj Khalifa, the tallest building in the world, has 2.909 steps !!!

If you want to help the cause,  go to the website of Arena Moves ( and sign up, either as a single participant or as a team. If you do not feel like climbing stairs, you can also join the various sports activities that have been scheduled – be aware that there will only be 50 participants per activity, so hurry up! All the activities will be led by professionals. The music department will be covered by DJs Julian Jordan and Joshua Walter, and there will be football and skate demonstrations by Streetkings and Nobel x De Yard.

What are you waiting for?

If you are not going to be around, you can always make a donation, through the same website.

Leave us your opinion in comments … what do you think this initiative? Are there such events in your city? Are you planning to go?
